One exercise for Valentine’s Day #bettersex
Hello my ageless beauties,
I want to dive into a tabu topic for a moment…sex. I know in midlife that may be a bit different, than years before. However, it doesn’t have to be forgotten about. As women go through menopause our bodies go through hormonal changes. Estrogen diminishes and it can cause some vaginal dryness. Now we are all aware of lubricants and some are way better than others. One of my favorites is organic coconut oil. It is very safe and effective plus very tasty.
Let’s talk a minute about the pelvic floor and how it relates to better sex. I know we are all aware of the Kegel exercise and how it aides with incontinence. Kegels are easy and can be done anywhere and anytime. A kegel consists of repeated contracting and releasing of the pelvic floor muscles. Theses are the muscles that help control the bladder.
For the sake of a short but effective post let’s talk less science and more SEX!
Sexual Function for a woman starts in the brain as we know. In midlife the stars and moons also have to align as we also know.
Research has found that toning the pelvic floor muscles can enhance a woman’s sexual health. Once a woman practices the kegel exercises for awhile she will increase her pelvic floor muscle strength. Once blood flows to the pelvic floor while practicing kegels, your chances of arousal are increased and orgasms are more intense. Sounds like a win win. How do you perform KEGELS? Stopping the flow of urine mid stream is one of the easiest ways to start. Think of your pelvic floor as a vacuum. Lie on your back and bring your legs in towards your chest, then pull your pelvic floor in like a vacuum and hold for 5 seconds. Do this 10x in a row The beauty of this exercise is that you can do them anywhere and at anytime.
